Baptisms at St Mary's

Please contact Rev'd Tessa Stephens with enquiries about Baptism and Confirmation at St Mary's.

Baptism of infants, children and adults is open to anyone living in the Parish, who is on the Electoral Roll of St Mary's or who have another connection with the parish.

Baptism will normally take place at special baptism services in the church.

Vergers will be in attendance to assist in the smooth running of the service and with seating arrangements.

A few weeks before the service parents and godparents meet with the clergy to discuss the Baptism vows and traditions.

Less formal Sunday worship takes place at the hall, normally twice per month - please check the calendar for forthcoming services.

Some people find the hall a more relaxing atmosphere to worship in than the church, while the service remains equally as valid.

The Hall Chapel is used for a Communion Service from the Book of Common Prayer, every Wednesday, and there is a 'Pram Service' for parents and carers to take pre-school children to on Thursday mornings during term time.

Please always check the calendar to confirm what services are taking place each week.
